Back to Class Schedule

- Spicy Black Bean Soup (blended with coconut milk and topped with jumbo lump crab meat)

- Kickin' Jamaican Jerk Chicken (smoked on the grill)

- Fried Sweet Plantains (with Caribbean rum & fruit salsa)

- Authentic Rum Cake (The Cayman’s biggest export - sweet yellow cake drenched with RUM!)

We’re excited to offer this class featuring foods popular in the caribbean, including Jamaican Jerk!  We even travelled to the Caymans for extended research on these recipes!

The Jerk marinade is soooo good it can be put on anything, but traditionally on barbequed chicken.  The spicy black bean soup is slightly cooled by the creamy coconut milk, but still gives you a generous slap in the face! The fried plantains give some crunch and the rum salsa cools everything down while making you feel like "everything is going to be alright!"  We'll finish the evening with the most moist, delectable rum cake made by our crew.  Oh, you better believe the reggae will be blasting mon!

Dinner Party classes are more social in nature, though you'll still learning how to cook and prepare awesome food! You get to work in groups, allowing for plenty of time to cook, eat, drink, and meet new friends. The class is hands-on, with each cooking station getting to make every dish, unless the dessert is something requiring preparation ahead. We're BYOB, but we have great wine and unique beers for sale - some you can't find anywhere else in Houston! There is no corking fee if you choose to bring your beverage(s) of choice. We provide aprons, bottled water, wine glasses, water/beer glasses, ice, and bottle openers. Come hungry because there is plenty of food!
